Welcome to the Medway Public Library Children’s Services!
Our mission in Children’s Services is to build a worthwhile collection of books and other materials specifically for children, ages 0-12; to provide excellent programming specifically for children and families; and to be a center of learning.
The Children’s Room, located near the Main Circulation Desk, is a space for children, ages 0-12, to play, read, and learn at the library with adult supervision. While we encourage all patrons to use the materials in the Children’s Room, the space itself is reserved for kids and their parents.
Gene Luen Yang is this year’s National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature! He is challenging all readers to broaden our horizons by reading beyond our normal comfort zones.
1. Read a book about a character who doesn’t look like you or live like you.
2. Read a book about a topic you don’t know much about.
3. Read a book in a format that you don’t normally read for fun. This might be an audio book, a graphic novel, a book in verse, a picture book, or a hybrid book.
Complete the challenge for a special spot on our bulletin board, bookmark, pin, and certificate. All ages.
Medway Cable Access
The last Friday Story Time of each month is recorded by Medway Cable Access to be broadcast locally.
Release forms are available through Miss Lucy and can be filled out ahead of time or the day of Story Time.
Please do not feel that you must skip storytime if you prefer not to have your child on TV. Everyone deserves to enjoy storytime and we will make every effort to maintain the privacy of those who do not fill out the form.
