Library Trustees Meeting
June 9, 2006
William Roberts, Secretary
Wendy Rowe, Chairman
Citizens (at various times):
Dennis Crowley, Selectman
Richard Dunne, Selectman
There was a varied discussion of extra monies possibly in play and the technicalities of Municipal governance (which mostly left the Secretary bemused).
The Selectmen present wanted the Trustees to commit officially to including our own money (the revolving fund and the Tuchinsky) in the officially stated budget. Ideally the town budgets the Library enough money to operate and the Trustees use those funds plus State Aid for stabilization and extra services purposes. In fact in recent years both the revolving and the state aid have gone to fund the Library's budget.
The Secretary also notes that last year the Trustees publicly declared their intention to be spend the Tuchinsky interest this year for budget expenses not covered by the town in the event of expected fiscal difficulties
Motion: The Library Trustees are willing to spend at leaset $54,000 from the interest on the Tuchinsky Fund and from the Revolving Fund as part of the funding of the Library's 2007 fiscal budget. (WLR1, MJ2) passed unanimously.
The quorum dribbled away as people had enough coffee and needed to get to their day jobs. Chuck's leaving at 10:17 finished it off.
